“Before training, Bodie barked at everything, pulled on the lead, and struggled with basic commands. Now he walks calmly, listens reliably, and has settled beautifully into family life.”
“Lauren was exceptional with Bowser. He’s much calmer now, listens to commands, and is far better behaved in everyday situations.”
“We were over the moon with the improvements we saw even after the first session with Lauren.
We wanted a bit of training done for 23month old King Charles, Charlie, as we are looking to get another King Charles and wanted the new dog to learn from Charlie and wanted Charlie to be trained for the new born babies coming into the family too.
Couldn’t recommend Lauren enough Charlie is like a brand new dog after his 6 weeks training and we couldn’t be happier.
He’s so much more relaxed when people call to the home and his recall and listening is fantastic now couldn’t recommend anymore 10/10 and great money for the training and lessons we learned from it all”

Why It Works:
We don’t just teach tricks — we help dogs think better, improve problem-solving, and build trust with their owners for long-term behaviour change.
Is your dog going through the “Teenage Phase”?
If your dog was great as a puppy but has suddenly become harder to handle, you’re not imagining it, and you haven’t failed as an owner.
Between 6 and 18 months, dogs go through an adolescent phase. Their brain is rewiring, their hormones are surging, and the recall that worked perfectly at 10 weeks seems to have completely vanished. They’re easily distracted, more impulsive, and suddenly very interested in everything except you.
This is the stage most owners come to us. It’s also the stage where the right structure makes the biggest difference.
Our obedience training is built with these dogs in mind — helping you rebuild focus, establish calm behaviour, and get back to enjoying your dog again.

You haven’t missed the window. This is exactly the right time to start.

Meet Your Trainer
Hi, I’m Lauren! I’ve been working with dogs since I was 12, and over 25 years on, helping Cork owners build calm, well-mannered dogs is still what I love most. Whether your dog pulls on the lead, won’t settle around distractions, or just needs a bit of a reset, I use reward-based, science-led methods to build real focus and reliability — the kind that holds up in the real world, not just in a quiet room. I work with you and your dog in your own home, so what we train is what you’ll actually use every day.

Meet Tyson, my training partner. He sometimes joins sessions to help.
How It Works
Getting started is simple, and it begins with a chat, not a commitment.
1. Have a free 15-minute chat with Lauren
Tell her about your dog: their age, what’s going on, and what you’d like to change. No obligation.
2. Choose your course and book
Pick the Good Dog Obedience Course, or a Behaviour Consult if Lauren recommends one. Spread the cost with Klarna if you’d like, paying in three monthly instalments at checkout.
Once you book, you will have access to Lauren’s booking calendar and will be able to book in at a time and date that suits you.
3. Lauren comes to you
The one-hour sessions take place in your home. You’ll learn step-by-step exercises with your dog in the place where the real-life challenges happen.
4. Practise between sessions with support
After every session you’ll get printed notes and exercises to follow, plus support between visits (by WhatsApp) if you get stuck. You’ll always know what to work on next.
Not sure where to start?
Why train an older dog?
- It’s never too late. Rescue, adopted, or just never got around to it, adult dogs learn well, and many focus better than puppies.
- Habits don’t fix themselves. Pulling, jumping and barking tend to get stronger without clear guidance.
- A trained dog is safer and happier. Reliable recall and calm manners help around doors, roads and other dogs, and make vet visits and outings easier.
- It builds confidence and your bond. Clear, consistent guidance reduces frustration and gives your dog the mental exercise they need.
Real Results from Happy Clients
“We really enjoyed the 6 weeks of training we did with Lauren. It’s very handy being able to do it 1:1 at home & you can tell she has great experience with all dogs & understands their behaviour so well. Our dog loved her & we learnt lots. Each session comes with notes so all the family can practise afterwards! Definitely would recommend.”
“Lauren was great. Spent lots of time with each family member ensuring they all knew tricks and could control a very excitable labrador.”
“We have a staffy, now 7 months old, and for the first 4/5 months was an absolute handful. A super energetic dog, that nipped and chewed any part of the body it could. With 2 young kids and a pup that was quickly growing, we needed help.
I contacted Lauren, and from the first phone call a plan was in action. With weekly sessions, and improvements from the first hour, our pup was now acting as a family member. Calm, gentle, and listening. Commands were not making rules for the pup, but instead, fun and satisfying routines which turned into normal everyday behaviour all whilst rewarding the pup along the way.
Lauren and planet pup could not have made it any easier, teaching me how to communicate with the pup without repeating no, stop, out, or generally getting annoyed and putting him in the crate.
Also along the way teaching him fun tricks, walking on loose leash, and routine time outs for naps.
Could not suggest anyone better for what I needed. Thank you Lauren.
Kind regards, King (Kong, king of the blues)”

Frequently Asked Questions
01 What age does my dog need to be for obedience training?
Our obedience course is designed for dogs aged 6 months and older. If your dog is younger, we recommend starting with puppy training.
02 What payment methods do you accept, and can I pay in installments?
We accept card payments via Stripe, as well as Amazon Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
If you wish to pay in installments, we are partnered with Klarna, who will allow you to pay in three monthly installments.
You can see all of these options at the checkout page.
03 Do you work with all dog breeds, including large or giant breeds?
Yes, we train dogs of all breeds, ages and sizes across Cork.
04 Does everyone in my household need to attend the sessions?
No, but we’d encourage anyone who regularly handles or walks the dog to join at least one or two sessions, so training stays consistent when you’re not around.
I recommend that one person is present for all sessions, whereas other members of the family can be more fluid.
05 Do you work with rescue dogs, and is your approach different?
Yes. Rescue dogs often carry an unknown history, so we adapt the assessment and pace accordingly, with extra focus on building trust and confidence early on.
06 Do I need any specific equipment?
Once you book the course, you will receive an email with the full agenda and equipment list. Equipment includes items that you likely already have, such as a lead, harness, collar, bed and treats.
07 Is this training suitable for reactive or fearful dogs?
Our obedience course is best suited to dogs who can work in a learning environment without extreme fear or reactivity. If your dog struggles with significant fear, aggression, or reactivity, we recommend booking a behaviour consultation first so we can create a tailored plan to set them up for success.
08 What will my dog learn during the 6-week course?
Your dog will learn how to walk politely on a lead, come when called (even with distractions), listen well in the home, go to bed when asked, and much more.
09 How long are the sessions?
Each session lasts approximately 60 minutes, giving enough time to teach, practice, and answer any questions you may have.
10 How much does dog obedience training Cork cost?
We run a 6-week long course in your home for €399.99.
11 How long does dog training take?
Our Good Dog Obedience Course is 6 weeks long, and the vast majority of owners manage to achieve their goals in this time. If owners want to tackle something that is not included in the course, they might book in for an additional follow-up session, but this is rare.
Usually, you will see a big difference in your dog within 2–3 sessions.
