Hi, and Welcome to Planet Pup Dog Training!

We specialise in helping people like you to turn your dog into the perfect companion animal for you and your family. We provide puppy training classes to ensure that you and your new furry family member get off to a great start, but also provide obedience and behaviour modification training for older dogs.

We use reward-based training to build the relationship between dog and handler so that your dog genuinely wants to do what you ask of them.

We believe in providing dog owners with the knowledge and skills to help them build a better relationship, creating a partnership of trust and understanding between human and canine.

About Me

Animals have been a huge part of my life since I was 12 years old. While dogs are my main passion, my experience has also included horses, cats, rats and even a ferret! For me, working with animals was never simply a career choice — it’s something I have loved for as long as I can remember.

My journey into dog training began with my Miniature Dachshund, Morgan. By the age of 14, we were competing together in obedience and agility, and by 17, I was teaching dog training classes at my local training school. Those early experiences sparked a passion that has continued to grow ever since.

Over the years, I have gained experience training my own dogs and supporting others, while continually developing my knowledge of canine behaviour and learning. With Nala, I worked through her Novice, Intermediate and Advanced Trick Titles, while with Tyson, I successfully completed the BH (Begleithundprüfung). I had hoped to continue our training journey further, but after the arrival of my daughter and a shoulder injury that Tyson sustained, that chapter, unfortunately, came to an earlier end than planned.

I hold a Dog Training Diploma from the Centre of Excellence and have completed Puppy Training and Canine Science training with the School of Canine Science, as well as the Reactive Rascals course with Xtra Dog. I am currently in my third and final year of the School of Canine Science’s behaviourist programme, alongside regularly attending seminars and continuing education covering areas such as reactivity, noise fears and other aspects of canine behaviour.

I am also a current member of the Institute of Applied Canine Science and continue to develop my practical skills and understanding by learning under Jo-Rosie Haffenden, one of the leading dog trainers and behaviour professionals in the world.

I believe that good training is about much more than teaching a dog to sit or stay. It is about understanding the individual dog in front of you, helping them feel safe and confident, and giving owners the knowledge and tools they need to build a strong relationship with their dog.

My approach is centred around positive, effective and evidence-based training. I am passionate about continuing to learn, staying up to date with modern approaches and, most importantly, helping dogs and their owners understand each other better.

Because ultimately, there is nothing I would rather do than help people and their dogs build a happy, trusting relationship that lasts a lifetime.

”We have only been for 3 sessions and I can’t believe the difference in my dog and my understanding of her.” – Cindy

My Dogs…

I currently own a black working-line German Shepherd (Tyson). We had to say farewell to our wonderful Collie Cross, Nala, due to health issues. She was fantastic at anything trick-based and achieved her beginners, intermediate, and advanced trick dog titles from Do More With Your Dog. Tyson is trained in Obedience, Protection, and Tracking. He currently has his BH (Begleithundprüfung), and although we were aiming to compete in IGP, a shoulder injury has prevented that. We are looking to compete in Kennel Union Obedience in the coming years.

My Philosophy as a Cork Dog Trainer

At Planet Pup, I truly believe there’s no such thing as a ‘bad dog.’ Every behavioural challenge has a solution — it’s just about understanding the dog and finding the right approach. My goal is to make training a positive and enjoyable experience for both you and your dog. We work together as a team, tapping into what motivates your dog most to bring out their best and build a strong, lasting bond.
